Sailing Yacht MARIE combines graceful lines of the early 20th century yachts with a modern underwater body and a next-generation ketch rig to ensure fast and comfortable sailing at all times. Her sleek and well-balanced lines in combination with a modern rig provide this magnificent yacht with the ultimate performance both in speed and in terms of comfort.
The vessel has an impressive sail area, carefully balanced with the hull so she can be steered manually in all winds. Downwind, her a-symmetric code sail in combination with a mizzen staysail offer truly impressive power and performance. The woodwork on the deck creates a magnificently warm atmosphere. The beautiful deckhouses and skylights are the epitome of traditional craftsmanship.
The focal point of living on a yacht is always the deck. Carefully located seating areas are spread across the vast expanse of Marie's deck and offer a variety of places to lounge, dine, party, socialize and sunbathe. Every conceivable activity has been incorporated on board of the superyacht MARIE. At sea, the action revolves around the main cockpit. Here we find the two steering positions and a control panel for the winches and main hydraulics on board. At this location, the guests feel actively involved in the sailing and all that transpires on deck.
The steering consoles offer modern sailing technology which is seamlessly combined with bespoke classic woodwork. A sophisticated steering system offers the MARIE yacht a direct helm feeling that is rarely found on vessels of this size.
Her modern woody interior styled and decorated by David Easton features Anigre-crafted panels with traditional art pieces. Descending from the deckhouse into the main salon, the most striking feature is the mini grand piano, which is one of the important players in the team of entertainment and directly shows the love for music on board. A dedicated dining area forward of the salon offers a separate area for al fresco dining. This area can be closed off to offer privacy if desired.
MARIE's wonderfully designed double deckhouse features classic lines with contemporary touches. Strong but lightweight carbon fibre ketch rig, light woody interior facilities are gaining the most from her 180 ft frame when at sail.
Aft of the main deckhouse sailing yacht Marie has the Owners’ deck house with its own cockpit. This is a remarkable area, which offers a peaceful and quiet place, even at sea when sailing at full speed with lots of guests on board.
Next to the Owners' cabin, there are three guest cabins on board, two in the aft ship and one forward next to the dining. All cabins of the Marie sailing yacht are finished in the same style and ambience. The interior is made in Anigre to achieve traditional lines in combination with a stylish but light atmosphere.
Remarkable are the ornamental arms. Most date from the early 18th century and each of them would have a remarkable story to tell. The arms are carefully chosen and match the theme and the atmosphere of the Vitters yacht Marie. The two cannons in the back, at both sides of the Owners’ cockpit date from the Habsburg period date from the early seventeen hundreds. Both can actually be fired. The firing of these cannons helps to imagine what the power must have been in the early man of war with many of these cannons some even much larger and more powerful.
She has a lightweight rig, built from carbon fibre at Southern Spars. The rig is finished in black, which stunningly matches her beautiful black hull. Her massive and powerful ketch rig allows her to plough through the deep blue above 16 knots in a good wind.
With a displacement weight of 298 tonnes, she holds just over 28,000 l of fuel. There is a C32 engine to facilitate pure motoring or to assist the sails when the winds die off.

“Sailing yachts have long combined nature with manmade beauty.” - ED DUBOIS “I think that one of the best things about Vitters is a conscious effort to make each yacht better than the last one. And better, you can have a long discussion about what better means, but better really in terms of quality. They have achieved that. And the finished project always batted my expectation.” - NIGEL INGRAM
