A General Description of Sailing Yacht ALYSSA M II

This notable luxury yacht ALYSSA M II is a sailing yacht. This 58 m (190 ft) luxury yacht was constructed at Brooke Marine /Brooke Yachts International in 1968. ALYSSA M II used to be Hms Bulldog.

ALYSSA M II ex HMS Bulldog was a former British navy vessel launched in 1968 and decommissioned by the Royal Navy in 2001.Millions of dollars was spent converting the yacht into a luxury motoryacht however during the refit in Nelson, New Zealand she went up in flames. Fire-fighters from the local area were called to battle the blaze aboard the 58m former HMS Bulldog as thick black smoke billowed from the burning ship however the vessel was extensively damaged. Approximately 40 people were working aboard at the time and all got off safely. It is believed a gas welder had possibly started the fire. Project director Richard Fogarty said the ship was about a year from completion before the blaze. And that the Alyssa M II was definitely salvageable. The vessel was owned by a Hong Kong based businessman, who was rebuilding the vessel as a replacement for his current superyacht, the 36m Alyssa M.

the United Kingdom is the country that Brooke Marine /Brooke Yachts International built their new build sailing yacht in. After official launch in 1968 in Lowestoft the boat was passed over to the proud new owner after sea trials. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure above deck is fashioned out of aluminium. In 2002 extra refit work and modernisation was in addition finished.
