Luxury motor yacht ATHINA III (ex Meduse) measures 60.6m (198'10") and was built by Feadship in 1996 with exterior design by De Voogt Naval Architects and interiors by McMillan Design. She has accommodation that spreads over 6 staterooms for up to 12 guests and further cabins for a crew of 15.

EXTERIOR

The main deck aft provides two circular alfresco dining tables both surrounded by six chairs, plus a sofa and two tables along the stern. Two stairways lead down to the swim platform which grants easy access to the tender and water toys, and two stairways ascend to the upper deck aft.

The upper deck aft has room for storing a tender, and farther forward there is a large alfresco dining table for meals in the fresh air while shaded by the sundeck overhang. Side walkways connect around to the foredeck, where a triple sunbed lets guests rest in the sunshine with panoramic views.

The sundeck aft is used for storing the tenders and has room for a helipad along the stern. A casual alfresco dining area with barbeque grill and fridge amidships in the shade, and forward curving seating follows the sides and the generous raised Jacuzzi has two broad sunbeds on both sides.

INTERIOR

The lower deck layout places the crew accommodation, mess and laundry facilities forward followed by the engine room amidships and the guest accommodation behind. The aft section is used for storing the water toys.

On the main deck, the forward section hosts the Master suite and VIP stateroom, followed by the galley, foyer and gym. Amidships is the formal dining room, separated from the lounge for an intimate atmosphere. Aft of the formal dining room is the cinema to port and day head to starboard, and the main salon is aft. Within, the room is divided into two seating areas, with an L-shaped sofa, armchairs, drinks tables and a coffee table to port along with a drinks/games table to seat four behind. The starboard side has a sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table and two side tables beneath the window, and a grand piano rests in the aft corner.

The bridge controls are on the upper deck forward and a sofa in the starboard corner give guests a tranquil place to unwind with reading material in a light-filled room. The Captain's private room and cabin are aft, the foyer amidships and the skylounge aft. Within, there is a wet bar and plenty of sofa seating for the group to entertain while dockside or celebrate a special occasion together at a remote anchorage.

A pair of Caterpillar 3516 DITA engines give a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots with a range of 5,380 nautical miles.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a total of 12 guests in 6 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. ~The Master suite is situated on the main deck forward and comes with a king-sized bed against the aft wall with a widescreen TV opposite. The desk/vanity is to port and to starboard the private lounge consists of two armchairs and a side table. The walk-in wardrobe is forward to port and to starboard is the en-suite bathroom, which offers a sink, toilet and shower. ~The VIP stateroom is behind the Master suite on the main deck, and comes with a queen-sized bed, a widescreen TV, a desk/vanity, an armchair, ample storage and an aft en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. ~The double cabins are to port and starboard respectively aft of amidships, and both come with a double bed, widescreen TV, a desk/vanity, corner armchair, ample storage and an en-suite bathroom providing a sink, toilet and shower. ~The twin cabins are directly behind the double cabins and both have two single beds, a widescreen TV, desk/vanity, storage and an en-suite bathroom providing a sink, toilet and shower. ~The professional crew of 15 will take care of every detail throughout the journey.
