A capacious triple masted schooner GROOTVORST is a very well designed Dutch made yacht which was launched to celebration in 1895. The private sailing yacht was designed from the naval architecture of Bodewes.

Building & Design with respect to Luxury Yacht GROOTVORST

Bodewes was the naval architect firm involved in the formal superyacht plans for GROOTVORST. Bodewes is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. the Netherlands is the country that Bodewes Scheepswerf completed their new build sailing yacht in. After the formal launch in 1895 in Martenshoek the boat was handed over to the yacht owner after sea trials. A moderate area is achieved with a maximum beam (width) of 6.8 metres / 22.3 feet. With a 5m (16.4ft) draught (maximum depth) she is fairly deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is built with the use of steelandwood. Over the deck of GROOTVORST she is 40 (131.2 ft) in length. In 1985 further refit work and updating was additionally performed.
