A impressive ketch motor sailer INDEPENDENCE is a very high quality Italian built yacht which was launched to praise in 1998. She could be considered a modern ketch motor sailer. This graceful superyacht was created by naval architects Perini Navi. Budd Baty undertook the designing of the interior.

S/Y INDEPENDENCE can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins. She has an atrium with two stairways leading to the 6 guest accommodations below. All have large portholes offering light and views. A formal lounge and dining room are located forward. The fly bridge has comfortable seating stunning views of the yacht under sail and a ten person hot tub plus a covered helm station with complete controls.

Building & Design of Luxury Yacht INDEPENDENCE

Perini Navi was the naval architect involved in the formal superyacht design work for INDEPENDENCE. Her interior design was realised by Budd Baty. Perini Navi is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. Italy is the country that Perini Navi completed their new build sailing yacht in. After her official launch in 1998 in Viareggio she was passed over to the owner after sea trials and testing. The main hull was constructed with steel. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively with aluminium. With a beam of 11.43 m / 37.5 ft INDEPENDENCE has fairly large internal space. A fairly 8.29 (27.2 ft) draught of 8.29m (27.2ft) affects the list of overall marinas she can enter into, depending on their individual depth. Fitted with twin DEUTZ-MWM diesel main engines, INDEPENDENCE is able to attain a top speed of 16 knots. Coupled to the INDEPENDENCE engines are twin screw propellers. She also has an efficient range of 4000 miles whilst underway at her cruise speed of 13 knots. Her total HP is 2512 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1848. As for bow thruster maneuverability she was fitted with Schottel.
