A General Description of Sailing Yacht KOKOMO
The work of the Alloy Yachts shipyard in New Zealand the KOKOMO is 52 metre 170 (foot) in length. Christened in 2006 the comparatively recent interior design confirms the unique vision which are originating from Redman Whiteley Dixon and the owner who commissioned the yacht. Superyacht KOKOMO is able to accommodate up to 12 passengers with 10 qualified crew. The yacht is a recent cruising yacht. She is able to attain a maximum speed of 15 knots.
She was Finalist in the 2006 Boat International World Superyacht Award, ShowBoats International Award and International Superyacht Design Award. She was built for an experienced yachtsman with a passion for racing. Sailing yacht Kokomo is the second Alloy Yachts built and Dubois Naval Architects deigned sloop the yachtsman who commissioned her had owned. She was intended for extensive cruising and for competing in a range of superyacht regattas around the world. Style and performance were also key requirements and her clean lines and elegant low profile represent a perfect balance of form and function. Indeed, the flybridge configuration leaves the main deck area completely dedicated to relaxation and entertainment. Kokomo continued the evolution in the design and construction of large, easily handled high performance sailing yachts for which Alloy Yachts has now enjoyed international reputation. Kokomo also expands Alloy Yacht’s level custom components which hwere designed and built in house at the New Zealand headquarters. For instance, was the first yacht with the entire package of vertical and captive reel winches designed and built by Alloy Yachts. KOKOMO also has a telescopic three-station passerelle designed and built by Alloy Yachts.

Dubois Naval Architects was the naval architecture company involved in the technical vessel design work for KOKOMO. Also the company Dubois Naval Architects skillfully collaborated on this project. Interior designer Redman Whiteley Dixon was employed for the creative interior styling. New Zealand is the country that Alloy Yachts constructed their new build sailing yacht in. After formal launch in 2006 in Auckland she was delivered on to the yacht owner having completed sea trials and testing. Her hull was crafted from aluminium. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated predominantly from aluminium. With a width of 10.2 m / 33.5 ft KOKOMO has fairly large interior. A fairly deep draught of 4.9m (16.1ft) selects the number of harbours she can enter into, contingent on their individual depth.
