The motor yacht MIRA is a 48 metre 156 (foot) large wooden/GRP composite ship which was developed at Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts (Schiffs-Und Yachtwerft ) and concieved by German Navy and Barracuda Yacht Design. This balanced boat was designed by a naval architect called German Navy and Barracuda Yacht Design. Barracuda Yacht Design was involved in the designing of the interior.

New Build & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht MIRA

German Navy was the naval architecture company involved in the formal vessel composition for MIRA. Her interior design was realised by Barracuda Yacht Design. German Navy and Barracuda Yacht Design is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. In 1957 she was formally launched to accolade in Lemwerder and following sea trials and detailing was then passed on to the new owner. Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts (Schiffs-Und Yachtwerft ) completed their new build motor yacht in Germany. Her main hull was crafted from wooden/GRP composite. The motor yacht main superstructure is made predominantly from marine plyandgrp. With a width of 6.92 metres / 22.7 feet MIRA has moderate internal space. She has a shallow draught of 2.29m (7.5ft). She had refit improvement and modification undertaken by 2004.

Installed with twin MTU diesel engines, MIRA is able to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots. For propulsion MIRA has twin screw propellers. She also has an economical range of 4000 nautical miles when underway at her cruise speed of 12 knots. Her total HP is 1660 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1221. With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she utilises Gyro Gale.
