EXTERIOR
The yacht’s colourful story began with her original design by Alfred Mylne – who also designed the Royal Yacht Britannia – to serve as a tender. Like so many private yachts she was enlisted into service the Navy for the war effort in 1929 and took part in the D-Day landings.
The passed through several pairs of hands fulfilling various roles including featuring in movies, as a dive boat, a gentleman’s yacht and a tender to various sailing greats. She has been refitted, modernised and altered over the years but received her best and most lavish rebuild in 2023 when owner Jim Clark commissioned Huisfit by Royal Huisman to completely rebuild her.
Her original profile has remained the same but with a complete rebuild of the thinning hull and deteriorated deck. The entire teak deckhouse was lifted off in one piece for restoration, preservation, strengthening, and refinishing in a dust-free environment. Decorative teak moldings were added to embellish its bright-finished exterior. Every piece of deck hardware, including port hole covers, was removed and catalogued for restoration.
The deck now offers a stunning dining setting with an enormous custom table showcasing the joiner’s skill with a diamond design and glass-like surface finish. Comfortable, padded captain’s chairs are easy to position at will or store on passages.
INTERIOR
The interiors are a credit to the designer deVosdeVries and authentically pay tribute to her original outfitting. A simplified style has created spaces for the new owner to enjoy a relaxed family lifestyle that includes plenty of stunning wood panelling and hand-made furniture and a flawless finish.
The owner’s stateroom and VIP aft kept to their previous footprint and were refitted with handsome detached nightstands, relocated port holes and built-in bookcases. Just forward of the owner’s suite is a beautiful stateroom for guests in identical style and finishes. Below forward is a refreshed flex cabin for either the captain or extra guests.
The galley also keeps its familiar footprint but features modern white cabinets and professional surfaces surrounding new appliances. So, too, the entire three-story main staircase has been reconfigured in a style in keeping with the 1930s.
The main saloon is now a more casual space focusing on plump French-blue sofas for après regatta relaxation. This is very much a boat for personal living rather than high-profile entertaining. French polish, straight grain, walnut joinery paired with walnut, burl panel insets and hand-painted overheads look perfectly at home.

One of the biggest changes is that the former indoor dining saloon overlooking the foredeck is now a comfortable media room with a welcoming overstuffed sofa and chairs upholstered in a linen-textured off-white shade.
The wheelhouse is a lovely homage to tradition with a teak interior matching the varnished teak outside.
