The 24m/78ft expedition yacht SHERPA XL HULL 2 is constructed with a fibreglass hull and a fibreglass and aluminium superstructure that results in a shallow draft and excellent handling in the water. She is the second hull for the explorer yacht SHERPA XL model and features a more open-plan, versatile layout than her sistership, the first SHERPA XL. Once notable change is the split-level bow, creating a more streamlined profile that enhances her performance through the water.

EXTERIOR

The main deck aft cockpit is a shaded space that provides guests with a comfortable place to dine alfresco, seating up to 10 guests. Two wine coolers are available to keep glasses filled during a celebration, and behind the dining area is a C-shaped lounge with drinks tables for relaxing with the amazing views. Farther down the stern are the sun-drenched sunbeds, leading to the swim platform below.

The foredeck has a broad sofa in front of the helm station, and the sundeck above provides an additional place to sunbathe with sun loungers along the aft section and plenty of room for outdoor exercise and observation of local wildlife.

INTERIOR

On the elevated main deck, the helm controls are forward with the winter garden immediately behind. This tranquil salon features wind-down windows like those on a car for natural air conditioning and a greater connection to the location, and light filters down through the solar panels for a dappled effect. The sense of space is further emphasised by the natural materials, which include colonial-essence oak and Light Grey Alpi.

The layout places the widescreen TV to port, and an L-shaped sofa to starboard with an armchair and a coffee table. The galley is enclosed in the aft to port corner, and a central stairway leads down to the glass sliding door out onto the main deck aft, and down into the lower deck accommodation.

A pair of IPS 1350 engines create a top speed above 23 knots with an estimated range of 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots and 1,400 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 8 guests over 4 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 1 VIP stateroom and 2 twin cabins. The Master suite is one large open-plan space with no partitions separating the bedroom from the bathroom. The king-sized bed is against the aft wall with a widescreen opposite and the desk/vanity to port and wardrobe space on both sides. The starboard bathroom has two sinks, a toilet, bidet and shower. The forward VIP stateroom places the bed against the forward wall with a widescreen TV opposite, storage on both sides and a starboard en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, bidet and shower. The twin cabins are placed to port and starboard between the Master suite and VIP cabins, and both have two single beds with a widescreen TV on the opposite wall, ample storage and an en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. The crew accommodation is placed in the bow and is separate from the guest accommodation to reduce noise and maintain privacy.
