Motor yacht MARLA (ex TJ Esperanza, ThunderGulch) measures 50.00m (164' 1”) and was built in 1999 by Amels with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and features the exterior and interior styling of Terence Disdale. She was most recently refitted in 2020, and offers accommodation that sleeps a maximum of 12 guests over 6 en-suite cabins, among which is a main deck master suite, with a crew of 12 to take care of every detail on board.

EXTERIOR

From the lower deck swim platform guests have access to the main deck, lines with a plush sofa along the stern along with a raised table and movable chairs to create a comfortable alfresco dining area placed beneath the shade of the upper deck overhang. The upper deck is accessed either using the port-side staircase, or through the skylounge.

The upper deck aft is shaded by the sundeck overhang and offers an intimate alfresco dining area with a grand circular dining table at its centre surrounded by 12 chairs. 

The spacious sundeck treats guests to sun loungers to the aft, a sun-drenched Jacuzzi forward of amidships with raised sunbeds beside the balustrades to port and starboard, and the forward sofa is a great place to take in the scenery, day or night. A projector and audio system on the sundeck form an alfresco cinema for films under the stars.

INTERIOR

The lower deck layout places the crew area forward with the majority of the guest accommodation amidships. Behind is the engine room, and in the stern storage for the large collection of water toys.

On the main deck the Master suite and single cabin is forward, while amidships is the galley to port and the main foyer to starboard. The formal dining area and main salon combine into one large entertainment area to the aft, and the forward formal dining area seats up to 12 guests surrounded by large windows and unique art work.

The main salon to the aft places a single armchair to starboard while the port side is furnished with a forward-facing L-shaped sofa beneath the window and an armchair forward with a coffee table in the centre of this space.

On the upper deck the Captain's cabin is immediately behind the helm station, and the skylounge aft. A plush sofa is placed against the forward wall with a large coffee table in front and a chaise-lounger to starboard. A bar is placed amidships to tend to guests efficiently within this room and outside at the alfresco dining table. Armchairs are laid out beneath the port windows, and aft a table for drinks and games.

Twin 1,200 HP Cummins 12-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engines provide a top speed of 15.4 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests over 6 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 2 VIP staterooms, 2 twin cabins (one with a Pullman berth) and 1 single cabin within the Master suite. ~ The Master suite is placed on the main deck forward and is accessed off the main foyer. Immediately to port within the Master suite is a cabin/lounge with a single bed, a sofa and an en-suite bathroom behind with a toilet, sink and shower. Forward to starboard is a lounger setting providing a sofa, armchair and a coffee table, with the bed around the corner to port for greater privacy. A desk is opposite the bed, and forward the spacious en-suite bathroom contains a toilet, bidet, two sinks, a bathtub and a shower. ~ The lower deck hosts two VIP staterooms forward of amidships, and together they can be converted into one large cabin by removing the separating wall down the middle. Both cabins have a double bed with a widescreen HD TV and deck opposite, and a forward en-suite bathroom fitted with a sink, toilet, bidet and bathtub. ~ The twin cabins are placed to the aft and one contains a Pullman berth. ~ The expert crew of 12 provides a 1:1 ratio with guests for first-class service while cruising or hosting dockside events.
