Mediterranean sailing yacht DARK STAR (ex Buzzy B) is in fantastic shape - a complete rebuild was started in 2000 and finished in 2003. ALL her systems are new - only her aluminium hull and mast are original. Originally built by Trehard of France to a ground breaking Martin Frances design DARK STAR (ex Buzzy B) has enjoyed a very diverse life cruising the world's oceans with her various crews and owners. She then underwent a major refit which has recently been completed at Camper and Nicholsons in Gosport. No stone was left unturned and absolutely no expense spared.
Every last piece of machinery, wiring, pipework, woodwork, in fact nearly everything was replaced to bring her up to date. It is no exaggeration to say that about the only original parts are the hull and mast. The complete re-design of her interior has created a contemporary feel and the clever use of space means that crew and guests can relax equally as well in their own areas.
She has been re-built to comply with MCA code 0 affording an extremely high level of safety normally reserved for much larger vessels.
For a vessel of her size she boasts an enviable array of toys and entertainments, very much in line with modern technology.
Originally built to the maxi rule she cracks an impressive turn of pace yet her swing keel means all but the smallest harbours are easily accessible.
