Sailing yacht AMMONITE (a.k.a.SW96#03) is the third hull in the successful SW96 miniseries from Southern Wind, measuring 31.4m/29.24ft and constructed with an epoxy resin-infused carbon fibre hull with a delivery date in 2020. Her naval architecture comes from Farr Yacht Design with interiors by Nauta Design and systems from the Southern Wind shipyard. The guest accommodation sleeps a maximum of six guests, while the crew accommodation sleeps five.

Unlike the two previous hulls in the series - S/Y SORCERESS and S/Y SEATIUS - S/Y AMMONITE has a tender garage with two side-lazarettes that is able to store a 3.95m/12.9ft tender. Designed for ocean-wide cruising as well as for high performance to enter some of the world's most prestigious regattas, S/Y AMMONITE is fitted with a twin rudder system, a lifting keel and a fixed bowsprit with integrated anchor arm. Both the boom and modulus mast are made from lightweight carbon, and there are transversal jib tracks for efficient operations.

EXTERIOR

Above deck, there is a spacious cockpit designed for outdoor lounging and alfresco dining sheltered for the most part from sea winds for use day or night.
The helm controls are placed aft and the forward section has been left clear for crew operations, but while at anchor the area can be used for observation, sunbathing and exercise such as Pilates.

INTERIOR

Below deck, the guest accommodation is situated forward and aft of the amidships salon, which contains a port-side dining area consisting of a forward corner sofa, raised table and additional chairs, while opposite a lounge sofa follows the aft and starboard wall and is joined by a coffee table. A media room is forward to starboard of the main lounge, and behind is the galley, second twin guest cabin, crew accommodation and tender garage.

The coach roof contains two lateral skylights and a hatch for greater illumination in the salon.

The STEYR SE286E40 engine producing 279 HP @ 4,000 rpm will provide power in light wind conditions and when manoeuvring away from docks.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps up to 6 guests across 3 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite and 2 twin cabins. The crew is accommodated over a Captain's cabins, a twin bunk and a Pullman bunk cabin. The Master suite is placed forward in the bow and provides plenty of storage space, AV entertainment, a day bed and a forward en-suite bathroom containing a toilet, two sinks and a shower. Behind the Master suite to port is the first twin cabin, which also has an en-suite bathroom furnished with a toilet, sink and shower. The final twin cabin is aft to port of the salon and has the same facilities as the forward twin cabin.
