A General Description of Motor Yacht TALITHA
Germaniawerft Fr Krupp finished building motor yacht TALITHA in 1929. Therefore, she was built within Germany. TALITHA had her naval architecture and design developed by Cox & Stevens and Cox & Stevens. This superyacht TALITHA can sleep overnight a total of approximately 12 passengers all told aboard and 18 professional crew. Completed by 1929 her reasonably classic internal styling proffers the traditional yacht setting of owner and Richard Taylor.
MY Talitha has quite a history. She was commissioned by the Chairman of the Packard Car Company, Mr. Russell Alger. The German yard of Frederich Krupp Germania Werft A/G, in Kiel, were awarded the building contract. She was launched in the summer of 1930 as motor yacht REVELER. Commissioned as PG60, U.S.S BEAUMONT she operated out of Pearl Harbour from June 1942 in World War II. She carried two 3” guns, 6 anti-aircraft guns, depth charges, and a crew of 110 sailors crowded uncomfortably into her 270ft. After surviving the war in the Pacific, she was decommissioned in February 1946 and then laid up. Many years later, she had a reconstruction at the DML Devonport shipyard in Plymouth, England, and after 3 years she emerged in 1993 in her present incarnation as MY Talitha.
The New Build & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht TALITHA
Cox & Stevens was the naval architect involved in the professional nautical composition for TALITHA. Also the company Cox & Stevens skillfully collaborated on this project. Interior designer Richard Taylor was charged with the internal interior styling. In 1929 she was actually launched to triumph in Kiel and following sea trials and detailing was afterwards passed on to the owner who commissioned her. Germaniawerft Fr Krupp Ag completed their new build motor yacht in Germany. A fairly large area is brought about with a widest beam (width) of 10.39 metres / 34.1 ft. With a 3.91m (12.83ft) draught (maximum depth) she is deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is built from steel. Over the deck of TALITHA she is 75.44 (247.5 ft) in length. In 2009 further refitting and updating was also finished.

The 3516TA engine installed in the motor yacht is made by CATERPILLAR. Her propulsion units are twin screw propellers. The main engine of the ship produces 1400 horse power (or 1030 kilowatts). She is equiped with 2 engines. The sum output for the yacht is accordingly 2800 HP or 2060 KW. As far as stabalisers are concerned she uses Vosper. The bow thrusters are Schottel.
