Motor yacht VANGUARD is a 27m (88.5ft) charter yacht based in Turkey. She was originally built for the United States Navy as an 83 foot cutter that served during World War II and after the war ended. These cutters were designed as off-shore ASW patrol boats. The present owner of the yacht VANGUARD converted the boat into a luxurious superyacht in 2007 with new engines and machinery and electronics etc. The refit took place at Istanbul's famous RMK shipyard where no expense was spared .
