Claasen Shipyards has a very convenient location on the outskirts of Amsterdam, making it easily accessible to owners and their representatives. Much of the success of Claasen yachts can be attributed to the way the yard combines traditional Dutch characteristics of craftsmanship and dedication to perfection with a constant willingness to incorporate new technologies. Over the past two and a half decades the Claasen workforce has earned itself a reputation for first class quality. This is hugely appreciated by the growing number of proud Claasen owners, each of whom has been able to incorporate their own tastes and preferences into their yacht.
Claasen has enjoyed a particularly successful partnership with the leading designer Andre Hoek, and has built nineteen of the much-acclaimed Truly Classic yachts. This semi-series concept brings together the elegant aesthetics of the 1930s with modern underwater hull configurations in seven lengths ranging from 56 to 116 feet. Every single yacht has a custom made interior layout and style, sail plan, keel, draft, deck gear, rig, technical systems and performance level.

Highlights of the Truly Classic yacht fleet constructed by Claasen include sailing yacht Atalante (a deep-ocean family cruiser racer), Hartbeat (whose owner was so impressed that he bought the yard in 2008), Copihue yacht (which has been round the world several times), the exceptionally fast sailing yacht Mulligan, the superb sloop-rigged Kealoah superyacht and the green-hulled Velacarina.
Over the past few years Claasen has also been heavily involved in the new generation of J-class yachts. The yard built luxury superyacht Lionheart, which with her LOA of 44 metres became the largest J afloat when launched in 2010.
Today, Claasen Shipyards builds premium yachts from 18 to 60 metres and is renowned for its flexibility, as well as quality. The fact that it has all the main disciplines in-house, including aluminium construction, interiors and painting, further complements the added value provided by this foremost yachtbuilder.
