In review: Westport superyacht FAR NIENTE

Inviting interiors

M/Y FAR NIENTE boasts contemporary elegance with a nod to traditional and nautical styling in her fixtures and fittings and colour scheme: Navy blue contrasts against the warm wooden panelling and cream upholstery, with silvery neo-classical sconces placed throughout the main salon and sky lounge for an abundance of light and the perfect ambiance after sundown.

The main salon is combined with the formal dining area to form one large entertaining space. After spending the day snorkelling and kayaking around colourful reefs, guests will return to the air-conditioned main salon for an aperitif before a professionally prepared three-course meal. Eight diners can come together around the oval table to celebrate a special occasion, then settle into the sofa and armchairs for a film, or play games together at the circular table.

The sky lounge has a similar setup with an L-shaped sofa and coffee table, plus a drinks/games table down the port side of the room, however there is also the welcome addition of a wet bar aft to starboard, and two large armchairs each have a matching footstool for guests to take the weight off their feet and rest in the sunshine with a good book.

One last lounge can be found in the forward pilothouse, which has a sofa and table to starboard behind the Captain's chair so that guests can take in the forward views whatever the weather in a climate-controlled environment.

Impressive exteriors

The main deck aft is one of the first places guests and visitors will come across on board, and it impresses with a massive alfresco dining table for 12, a wet bar with stool seating to port and a sofa and table for sitting back with your drink close to the stern. Access to the main salon is easy and the glass sliding doors can be pulled back for indoor and outdoor flow throughout the day, with staircases providing easy access to the upper deck aft and its own amenities.

The upper deck aft is used for storing the tenders and larger motorised toys while in transit, and once this area is clear there is an abundance of space for guests to use as they please. This exterior deck has its own wet bar and casual lounging/dining area consisting of a sofa and armchairs, which can join the sky lounge interior to create one large party floor. When a couple of guests want to escape the bustle of activity, the foredeck provides a cosy sofa with a drinks table, sun umbrellas and two forward sun loungers for some private serenity.

The sundeck can host a group all day long with its amenities, choice of sun-exposed and shaded spaces, and panoramic views. An outdoor lounge is placed aft along the stern, seating all guests with a sofa and armchairs around a coffee table. Amidships is a grand alfresco dining table to seat 12 with a wet bar and grill for delectable meals and refreshments as desired. The generous circular Jacuzzi is raised for guests to have great views of the surrounding scenery, and sunpads splay around both sides to make a desirable sunbathing area for everyone.

Luxury accommodation

Luxury yacht FAR NIENTE accommodates up to 10 guests over 5 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins, 1 of which is convertible to a double.

The Master suite on the main deck is the most coveted, boasting a king-sized bed with two walk-in wardrobes forward, a widescreen TV on the wall opposite the bed and a desk/vanity. The bedroom is accessed through a private office with additional clothes storage to starboard off the main foyer, and the en-suite bathroom has his-and-hers sinks, a toilet, bidet and a spacious shower.

The double cabins have double beds with a widescreen TV opposite, large wardrobe space and an en-suite bathroom with his-and-hers sinks (an uncommon feature for double cabins), a toilet, bidet and shower.

The twin cabins are smaller than the double cabins, but no less luxurious: The port-side cabin converts to a double and both have widescreen TVs mounted on the wall opposite the desk. There is ample wardrobe space and the en-suite has a sink, toilet and shower.

Constantly updated water toys

The Owner of luxury yacht FAR NIENTE is constantly looking for new additions to supplement and update the water toys collection, and in 2019 a new water slide was added. More heart-stopping fun can be had with the Seadoos, Seabobs and towable toys such as the wakeboard, while those looking to cruise along the coast have kayaks, paddleboards and inflatable toys at their disposal.

The beach setup is comprehensive as well, providing a cabana, barbeque, table, chairs and games including a frisbee and football.
