Nassau - 6 Day Yacht Charter Itinerary
Read the full Bahamas Charter Guide.
A 6-day private yacht charter itinerary visiting Bahamas and the Northern Exumas.
Day 1:
Arrive Nassau’s Atlantis Marina. Get settled in from your trip and enjoy a frosty fruity drink on the aft deck. You may wish to take the children out to enjoy the famous Atlantis water park.
An exquisite dinner will be waiting for you upon return, prepared by your Chef using all of the local delights. After dinner make the most of the Atlantis facilities. Take your chances in the casino and enjoy a night of dancing at “Club Dragons”.
Day 2:
Wake up leisurely and enjoy breakfast. Leave Atlantis Marina for a 2 hour cruise south to Allen’s Cay. Allan’s Cay is one of the most popular anchorages in the Northern Exumas. It is a picturesque setting amongst several cay’s with white sandy beaches. The main attraction at this anchorage is the large population of rock iguana’s found on Leaf Cay. As you make you way to the beach you will be greeted by the iguanas that are usually looking for tid-bits, but beware they have poor eyesight and can bite the hand that feeds them. Keep a treasure-seeker’s eye out for the hand blown glass fishing floats; they have made their way across the great Atlantic from the far Mediterranean to fetch up here.
Anchor up after lunch and head south for 2 hours and arrive at Sampson Cay to dock for the evening. Either have delectable dinner on board or enjoy the local Bahamian flavor of conch, spiny lobster, or an array of different seafood and other delights in the casual local restaurant- a local’s favorite!
Day 3:
Wake up fully relaxed and enjoy breakfast. Take the tender and jet skis to Staniel Cay. Where you can snorkel the world-famous Thunder Ball Cave, where the 007 movie Thunder Ball with Sean Connery was shot. A squad of black and yellow sergeant majors will be there to greet you. Be sure to bring your waterproof camera and some crackers or spray cheese to feed them.
On the way back, stop by Big Majors which is an island of hills with several sandy beaches. On the long beach on the western shore you will see a sign concerning the “wild pigs” on the island. The pigs were placed on the island by a couple of Staniel Cay residents and were never really wild. The pigs will eagerly await the arrival of the tender and jet skis with the prospect of some snacks; they will even swim a small distance out to the dinghy, to get your attention. They are fond of fruits and vegetables, so check the yachts supply for anything chef is not planning to serve.
Return to yacht to enjoy dinner that your Chef has prepared and spend the night docked at Sampson Marina.
Day 4:
5 Hour cruise north to Harbour Island. Spend the day on the world-renowned pink beaches relaxing by the calm turquoise waters. The sand obtains its unique pinkish color from bits broken shells from a tiny microscopic bright pink or red shelled animal known as Forminifera. The ocean is calm and perfect for swimming or snorkeling in the outlying reefs that is home to many varieties of tropical fishes. Or rent a golf cart to go along the town of Dunmore and browse through some local shops for the perfect keepsake to bring back home.
Enjoy another delicious meal by your Chef or dine at Rock House(5 Star) in a traditional British Colonial setting that has been elegantly restored or at The Landing which serves up contemporary food using the fresh and unique local produce.
Day 5:
Spend another day enjoying the picturesque Harbour Island. Soaking up the sun and achieving full relaxation on the sun pads. Or continue the adventures and take out the jet skis and go exploring around the island. The day is full of opportunity, adventure, and relaxation in this paradise!
Day 6:
3 hour morning cruise north to Nassau. Ease back into civilization and spend the day shopping the boutiques, lounging at one of the many pools and enjoying all the amenities that Atlantis has to offer.
Day 7:
Wake up and have a full brunch and lunch. Prepare for your departure. Leave with many amazing stories and memories of your week onboard.
