ST PETERSBURG AND TAMPA

St. Petersburg’s municipal beach is located on the shores of Treasure island, a neighbouring Gulf of Mexico community. Close by are beach volley ball courts, snack bars and restaurants. 

When it comes to stunning beaches, Tampa Bay certainly doesn’t disappoint. From downtown Tampa, you’re only about a half hour drive away from the most beautiful stretches of sand in the world. There are more than a dozen beaches to choose from all of which have soft, white sand meeting the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There are full beach services here with restaurants, water sports, entertainment and cabanas. Clear Water Beach is a good choice, it’s the centre of action and home to Pier 60 which hosts a daily sunset festival. If you’re after peace and quiet and a beach with a more natural setting, head for Caladesi Island State Park. It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with nature.

From most cafes and restaurants, you will be able to see the numerous bridges that cross Tampa Bay such as the Sunshine Sky Bridge, Howard Frankland Bridge, Courtney Campbell Causeway and Gandy Bridge. With the incredible Florida weather, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore. The kids will love a day out at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, Fort De Soto Park or for Buccaneer fans, Raymond James Stadium. Take a leisurely stroll down Bayshore Boulevard which is claimed to be the world’s longest, continuous sidewalk at four and a half miles long.
