March 10 saw the end of the 12th edition of Yachtmaster – the much expected annual event dedicated to captains of Azimut Benetti’s fleet of superyachts over 85ft. The Umbrian capital of Perugia, well-known all over the world for its art, was specially selected as the beautiful backdrop for this successful event.
The event consisted of three intense days of meetings, round table discussions, and workshops with captains alongside Azimut, Benetti, and Yachtique (the Group’s business line dedicated to customer service) technicians and sales managers, industry experts, and international journalists all discussing issues related to cruising, yacht and crew management, new tax and insurance regulations and standards; the participants was also brought up to speed on the new technology being introduced at the Group’s boatyards.
This year’s theme “Where future begins”, was aimed at identifying and devising – in conjunction with the captains – concrete methods for defining and developing future products and services, making use of what emerged from the previous edition entitled “Building ideas together”; the event was also focussed on identifying new ideas, new motivations, and new needs in the world of yachting.
As has become customary in this event, there was no shortage of opportunities for fun, relaxation, and team competition. After last year’s exciting race with Vasco Vascotto and Francesco DeAngelis, this year featured a plunge straight into the green heart of Umbria in Val Nerina; with climbs, tactical team competitions, and breathtaking flights exploring nature’s largest amusement park: all without any negative environmental or acoustical impacts.
Next year’s date has already been set; but as usual, the location and theme won’t be revealed until 2013.
