Norwegian Yacht Voyages AS has signed Deltamarin to create a 187.5m/615ft mega explorer yacht known as PROJECT CAROLINE, the largest hybrid expedition vessel ever to be built. While cruising, PROJECT CAROLINE will sleep up to 220 guests over 110 suites and penthouses with lavish shared guest areas.
Deltamarin will be in charge of creating the conceptual design in conjunction with selected architectural partners, producing the technical design and documentation.
As PROJECT CAROLINE is intended for worldwide cruising and visiting some of the world’s most environmentally sensitive areas, sustainable sea travel and having a low environmental impact are top design priorities.
Diesel and LNG dual fuel generators will give the Polar Class 6 explorer yacht hybrid status, combined with energy storage for peak-shaving and other emission minimisation solutions.
Daltamarin’s Sales Manager Jaakko Lappi said of expedition yacht PROJECT CAROLINE:
“We are very proud to announce our partnership with Norwegian Yacht Voyages to develop this ambitious project, which is to be the greenest mega yacht we have seen to date. Deltamarin has an excellent track record of designing highly energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly passenger vessels, so we are very excited to join this project.”
