Having received more than 250 nominations for the second annual ShowBoats Design Awards, Boat International Media’s senior editors were faced with the challenge of reducing this impressive list of entries to a shortlist of outstanding finalists. With such quality and innovation of design found amongst the nominees, this was no easy task.
After much consideration, 59 exceptional finalists are now in contention to receive a coveted golden Neptune at the gala awards evening, to be held in Palm Beach, Florida, on October 25.
These finalist designs will be scrutinised by an independent panel of Judges, all of whom have expert knowledge in their fields. This distinguished group includes superyacht owners, naval architects, lighting experts and internationally renowned designers from outside the yachting industry such as Ed Barber, who was responsible for the design of the 2012 Olympic Torch and renowned automobile designer Fabrizio Giugiaro.
