Making optimal use of the new Tavern Piazza situated in the centre of the boat show, the 2012 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is pleased to present its full entertainment program available online.
Along with favourites like Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator and regular fashion parades featuring fashion from Sanctuary Cove boutiques, there will be a host of high profile performers, demonstrations and bands to enthrall and please every member of the family.
For the first time in Australia, visitors will behold the spectacular gravity-defying JetLev R200 as it roars up to 9m (30ft) in the air! Action-packed demos will be held throughout the day each day of the boat show at the Demonstration Area on Marina C Arm.
Headlining the brightest program of entertainment ever, is the acclaimed singer/songwriter, Casey Barnes who made impact as a finalist on Australian Idol in 2009, where judges assured him he would go far with his grace, maturity, solid voice and persistence.
Barnes has since toured and won fans all over the world and his remake of Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ which reached number 1 on dance charts in the UK, and throughout Europe, currently doing well in Australia.
Barnes will perform live Saturday 26 May from noon, then with his band Kick from 2.50 to 6pm.
Other highlights include Brown Suga, Hot Jazz & Swing, Mark Divola Trio and soloists Mat Stokes and Rhydian Lewis, each with his own special style and appeal.
To tempt and tantalise, boat show stalwart, Club Marine’s Bart Beek will be cooking up some delectable onboard fare. Channel Seven’s gourmet guru, Sally Jenyns will also be on hand in the Tavern Piazza whipping up delectable dishes on Friday. Then on Saturday, the action heats up in the Piazza as the Channel Seven My Kitchen Rules team gets slicing, dicing and showing us how it’s done.
New for 2012, the Cove Tavern will be a social hub of the boat show, a great place to wind down, meet friends and old mates, as well as seal the deal over an ale, or two.
Thanks to Stormy Lifejackets, there will be Water Safety & Inflatable Lifejackets demos each day in the Piazza, showcasing the latest in high-tech PFDs and safety equipment.
For ladies wishing to learn about sailing, there are “Introduction to Sailing” hour session, conducted by John Bankart from Sunshine Sailing Australia on The Marina E Arm. Topics covered include Safety equipment, Knots, Points of sail, Give way rules, Weather, MOB and Communication. If it’s interior style you’re after, get on board MV ‘The Lady’ for one of the intimate and insightful seminars by Sarah Egan of Boat Style who will share her tips on How to Decorate your Boat, each day of the boat show, 10-10.30am, The Marina F Arm.
As well as the incredibly popular Ladies’ Lunch featuring Ita Buttrose, there are the two “High Tea on the High Seas” cruises taking in the sights of the serene Coomera River.
