Since 2003, the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) has grown into a successful marine and lifestyle event in South East Asia’s exotic tropical playground. The show is annually hosted by Phuket’s five-star Royal Phuket Marina, featuring the purpose built exhibition space, overlooking the in-water display in a fabulous setting, providing fine dining and fantastic views of the yachts. The 2014 edition of PIMEX, the preview video of which can be found here below, will run from January 9 to 12.
The show will have up to 60 yachts in the water from 10m to 35m, power and sail, and smaller trailer yachts for the entry level visitors. As many as 120 exhibiting companies representing over 250 brands worldwide will make the 2014 show the biggest ever. All products will be on display; from boats to marine equipment and accessories, charter and diving and sailing holidays, technical and design services, marina construction and a wide range of water sports toys and gadgets.
Entry is free and all are welcome. The show opening times will be midday to 8.00 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 11.00am to 6.00pm on Sunday.
As befits a show in Phuket, Asia’s favourite tropical island destination, alongside the marine exhibits will be a wide choice of luxury property, reasonably priced condominium projects and investment opportunities and luxury cars together with other iconic branded goods.
Recent shows have seen participation from Australia, Europe, USA, East Asia and China, and of course S.E. Asia. Cocktail parties and receptions will also give exhibitors and visitors the chance to mingle and network whilst enjoying the ambience of Royal Phuket Marina.
Floor and water plans have been posted and bookings are open for prime locations in the exhibition hall and marina (subject to availability.) Following demand, the in-water display has been increased to cater for up to 60 vessels with the possibility for more.
A conference will be held on 8th and 9th January on the subject of Marine Safety in Thailand with contribution from Thai Government Departments and the private sector.
Now on its eleventh year, PIMEX is an established and successful event in the marine and leisure calendar. As the 2013 edition showed, the show is well attended by luxury brands and individuals keen to buy. Over 4,000 individuals were involved and USD$25 million of product was sold with many more leads followed up after the show. Like its location, PIMEX is a relaxed event where participants celebrate the boating, leisure and luxury lifestyle in an ideal tropical destination. The show is more than boats on display but also an opportunity to see the latest luxury cars, properties and engage in some Phuket hospitality.
