Wednesday, September 24, during the Monaco Yacht Show 2014, saw the UIM host a press conference at the all-new Yacht Club de Monaco. The aim of the event was to officially launch the 2014 UIM Environmental Award and Special Mentions.
Launch of the 2014 UIM Environmental Award and Special Mentions at Monaco Yacht Show
Environmental leaders, boatyard industry professionals and international press representatives were invited to attend the kick off of the 5th edition of the UIM Environmental Awards.
The Press conference saw interventions by Thomas Kurth (UIM Special Commissioner), Riccardo Ballesio ( UIM environmental Working Group Chairman), Marnix Hoekstra and Bart Bouwhuis from Vripack and Vienna Eleuteri from VSY, 2013 Award winners, who had obtained respectively the “Special Mention for Greening the Sport” and “Special mention for Innovation”.
The successful event was the occasion for the UIM to highlight its strong commitment to promoting environmentally friendly technologies and to encourage all its stakeholders to actively participate to this UIM “green adventure”.
“The UIM Environmental Award and Special Mentions encourages environmental leaders, both individuals and organizations, to showcase their environmentally friendly technologies, best practices and successful innovations to be shared and applied within the motor sport community.” Raffaele Chiulli, UIM President.
