The all-new 28-metre Sunseeker motor yacht “Merrick” reached Solent Refit directly from the building yard to be completely “wrapped” in vinyl. This skin coating method provides yacht owners with a quick and inexpensive colour change. Superyacht Merrick was hauled out on the massive 1500 ton horizontal slipway and moved across into the working halls, where works started by vinyl experts: Wild Group International, Hamble.
Merrick yacht was to be the first yacht they had completely wrapped for an all over colour change. Everything that was white has been coated in a new titanium colour finish, right down to the waterline. The process took around a week to complete, prior to Merrick’s return to the water and shipping overseas.
Solent Refit’s slipway and transverse rail system is ideally suited to this type of fast operation, utilising either open air space or inside covered halls, with the minimum of fuss and cost.
