The 2nd Asia Superyacht Conference launched in a blaze of activity last night with delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors all attending the opening networking drinks reception on the Floating Bar at the stunning One°15 Marina Club in Singapore.
With last minute bookings taking overall numbers to above 230 every seat has been taken in the conference and networking social functions.
Mr Arthur Tay, Chairman of One15 Marina and also Chairman of conference partner The Superyacht Singapore Association (SSA), opened proceedings with an overview of some of the critical developments happening in the superyacht industry in Asia. This was supported by Jean-Jacques Lavigne, Executive Director of the SSA, who gave extensive data on both superyacht ownership and visiting superyacht traffic across the region.
Captain Nick Coombes then focused on some of the global developments in the superyacht industry that will affect the business in Asia, and then a presentation from Sunseeker on the particular needs of Asian buyers.
Other presentations in the day included environmental superyacht projects, changes in sales and distribution channels, refit yards and new build projects in China.
At the end of the day delegates head to the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club for a networking drinks reception and Gala Dinner.
Day two sees another 25 presentation sessions followed by another networking function in oriental central Singapore.
