The 2nd Asia Superyacht Conference, organized by the Singapore Superyacht Association (SSA) and Informa Yacht Group, at the One°15 Marina Club on Sentosa Island has attracted 210 delegates from around the world.
“Delegates tell us they are impressed with the remarkable new information being delivered in the presentations,” says event director Simon Turner. “I’ve heard of many new collaborations already, which is exactly what the event is designed to achieve.”
The keynote presentation by Jean-Jacques Lavigne, executive director of the Singapore Superyacht Association (SSA) painted a picture of a growing market for superyachts in the region. “The number of yachts in Singapore has grown by more than 30 per cent over the past two years to around 100 yachts, he said. Statistics show a high concentration (59 per cent) of yachts in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
The conference continues today with more than 40 speakers focusing on three core areas including superyacht design and construction in Asia, superyacht ownership and sales strategies in Asia, and Asia as a world-class cruising and charter destination.
