The owner of a classic 30 metre long sailing yacht chosen the Tamsen Maritim shipyard in Germany to be in charge of her refit. The most modern shipyard in Europe is located in Germany on the Baltic sea, which together with the experience staff makes the Tamsen Maritim Shipyard the most suitable for this job.
The first part of the refit is due to start this summer, including the refit of the mast, renewal of the underwater ship, repaint of the hull and maintenance of the rig.
Following this, the yacht will have the rest refitted during the winter months.
Tamsen Maritim’s flexibility provides the owner with a possibility to plan his summer trips in the Baltic sea during the summer months and in the same time gives him peace of mind, knowing his yacht is being well taken care of.
The company is based in Germany on the Baltic sea. Tamsen Maritim have been operating since 1850, when the The ship carpenter Wilhelm Zeltz and the mechanical engineer Alfred Tischbein found the shipyard Schiffswerft und Maschinenbauanstalt in Rostock (Northern Germany) which later becomes Schiffswerft Neptun. The first step towards TAMSEN MARITIM is taken. In 1994 Abeking & Rasmussen and parts of the Neptun Industrie Rostock merge to found the company A & R Neptun Boat Service GmbH. Between 1995 and 1996 the “1st expansion stage” takes over, where over €23 million is invested to convert the shipyard into one of the most modern in Europe, including construction of a ship lift with capacity of up to 1,000 t.
In June 2002 the shipyard is sold to SMG Werft AG. Building of new GRP yachts of up to 70 m in length begins and the technically advanced repair business is continued.
Between the 20020 and 2005 the “2nd expansion stage” takes place. Total investment of €38 million in production hall areas are increased to 10,000 m2 total site area covers 50,000 m2 . One of the largest 5 Axes CNC Milling Centres in the world is installed and the shipyard becomes certified by all relevant authorities and environmental agencies
In January 2006 the „3rd expansion stage“ takes place. Tamsen Maritim Increases focus on building new high-class yachts in the range up to 70 m. In October 2009 TAMSEN YACHTS GmbH acquires SMG Werft AG and operates under the name TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH.
