Following successful sea trials, the highly innovative power catamaran ‘quaranta’ completed the first half of the cruising season in Turkish waters. The 34-metre Curvelle charter yacht Quaranta is currently based near the lovely Eastern Mediterranean yacht charter destination – Bodrum in Turkey.
Five Year Mission
The creative force behind the innovative Curvelle power catamaran concept is Luuk V. van Zanten who set out, in his own words, to create a new superyacht that “combines sensible innovation with good practical ability to achieve total flexibility for guests”.
Luuk was responsible for creating an international team to deliver a yacht with so many new and novel features. The five year quest had a truly international team to deliver the outstanding Quaranta yacht, Dutch vision and attention to detail, Australian naval architecture, Italian styling, UK interior design and Turkish build quality.
The result is truly outstanding and sets a new benchmark in the world of superyachts with so many innovative features everywhere you look. The internal volume would do justice to a monohull yacht of 40m or more and the flexible way that the cabin arrangement can be configured in at least twenty combinations is a stroke of genius. Large picture windows, a stern platform that can perform a multitude of tasks, an excellent turn of speed and transatlantic capability, are just some of the surprises in store when you study this remarkable yacht.
A tangible result of this ground-breaking programme is that the 34m charter yacht Quaranta has been nominated for the International Superyacht Design award.
