Royal Huisman has announced the arrival of classic 1930s luxury yacht ATLANTIDE to its Huisfit facilities, where she will undergo extensive restoration work.
The 37m/122ft ATLANTIDE was designed by naval architect Alfred Mylne and built by British shipyard Philip & Sons in 1930. After being transported across the Atlantic from Newport, USA, she has returned to Europe to the Netherlands to preserve her rich history while preparing this 90-year-old vessel for future adventures.
Huisfit has established a reputation as one of the leading refit facilities anywhere in the world for classic restorations, rebuilds and conversions: In 2020 the shipyard received that Best Rebuilt Yacht award at the World Superyacht Awards 2020 for the rebuild of 1913-built Herreshoff schooner VAGRANT. Motor-sailer ATLANTIDE will be the fourth yacht from Owner Dr. Jim Clark to undergo work in the care of Royal Huisman – in 1998 charter yacht HYPERION was the first of his yachts to be refitted, followed by ATHENA in 2004 and then J-Class sailing yacht HANUMAN in 2009.
Classic yacht ATLANTIDE is expected to emerge from the Huisfit facilities in spring 2022.
