Verhaaren Naval Architects of France have revealed their 37 metre motor yacht project DAS. Motor yacht Project DAS is a lightweight composite superyacht concept that was designed specifically for day trips in the Arabian Gulf area, enabling the yachts owners and guests to visit the many islands and enjoy sport fishing in the area.
The 37 metre motor yacht project DAS can accommodate between six to eight guests and five crew members. The interior features an open plan main salon, with two large windows that can open when at anchor offering panoramic views and fresh air. Further details of the interior have yet to be announced however the whole arrangement and fit out including the choice of material is designed for hot climates and includes an efficient air conditioning system.
On the aft deck, a retractable dining table offers sheltered dining and there is a large fixed sunbed. There is also a swim platform and central tender garage at the stern, which houses a 3.6-metre RIB tender or two jet skis for easy access to the sea.
Project DAS features a carbon/epoxy lightweight composite structure and will be powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M90 engines producing 2720 kW, with two KMW 63 S3 water jets, enabling her to attain a maximum speed of 47 knots. “Thanks to its hydrodynamic characteristics, weight balance and power to weight ratio, Project DAS offers excellent sea-keeping and performance,” explained Thierry Verhaaren. “Water jet propulsion ensures safe shallow water navigation and high manoeuvrability.”
