Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche has announced the sale of a 40m/131ft displacement superyacht known as AURELIA 29, or PROJECT 125.23. Her new owner is an experienced yachtsman who greatly enjoyed his previous collaboration with the yard to customise M/Y GALEGO, a Darwin Class 102.
Returning to the shipyard, luxury yacht AURELIA 29 will have exterior styling and engineering by Hydro Tec, who was given the prerequisite of ensuring that the young couple could continue their passions with classic cars, fitness, and art and design even while cruising at sea.
As such, the very name AURELIA 29 is a homage to the 1950s Lancia Aurelia, as well as the date on which contracts for GALEGO and AURELIA 29 were signed. The amenities are built around the couple’s lifestyle and to enhance their enjoyment of fitness there are several varieties of water toys and bicycles, as well as massive outdoor areas.
Among her other assets are an 8m/26ft tender, an all-seasons design and engineering package and beautiful, interiors where elegance and function are key: One of the main requests of the design was ‘nothing should look as brand new or like a trendy top-class furniture showroom.’
Her technical specifications reveal she is RINA C Malta Cross Hull Mach Y (CH) classified for Unrestricted navigation and has a beam of 8.5m/27.8ft and a draft of 2.6m/8.5ft. A pair of Caterpillar C32 engines produces a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots, at which she has an impressive range of 5,000 nautical miles with a fuel capacity of 60,000 litres.
Superyacht AURELIA 29 is currently under construction and is due for delivery in mid-2020. More details regarding the model and the interiors will be revealed later in May.
