2Pixel Studio Yacht Design from Croatia has designed an out of the ordinary 40m sailing yacht which offers the owner distinct design solutions, new sailing technologies and respect of ecology. The DY 40 yacht has a beam of 8.44m and features an Aluminium Hull and a Composite Superstructure.
The DY 40 sail yacht design is minimalist with the idea of openness. The cockpit area features a clear deck aft with twin steering wheels further forward and a cockpit seating area for relaxing and dining alfresco. There is further seating on the bow of the sailing yacht with two semi circular seats enclosing a table area. The yacht boasts eco features such as an Electric propulsion system providing 600hp and solar panels on the wheelhouse roof.
The 2Pixel Studio DY 40 also features new sail technology in the forward of Soft wing sail. Soft wing sail doesn’t create vortices aft of the sail as the normal rig types. The result is more lift and less drag, and an additional benefit is that the forward portion of the batten creates a vector that reduces sheet loads, making sail trimming easier. Also, there are no highly loaded stainless fittings to fatigue, and the rig is self-refitting on all points of the sail in all conditions.
