Setzer Design Group has created a new 42-metre superyacht design which will serve as a shadow and support vessel for the client’s higher speed toys as well as the vessels of his visitors.
The hull and superstructure blend long lines with hard edges resulting in what Setzer Design Group hopes will be received as an elegant yacht in its own right, be it a support vessel or a fully self-sufficient superyacht. After more classic alternatives, the refined and streamlined profile reflects the owner’s taste.
The 42m motor yacht design by Setzer Design Group spans four deck levels and will be able to accmmdate up to 14 guests on board. There are six guest cabins located below decks and a full beam master suite with private lounge and balcony located on the main deck. The 42m superyacht support vessel will accommodate 8 crew members in private cabins forward.
The three upper deck levels of the 42m Setzer shadow yacht have been designed with entertainment in mind, with large spaces and seating areas, sun pads, intimate conversation areas and coffee bars. A large hot tub with surrounding sun pads is located forward on the flybridge with watersport storage possible aft. The flybridge will also be set up to house an inflatable slide which will extend from the flybridge down to the ocean. On each of the exterior decks aft there is a system providing retractable awnings to extend shaded space during the daytime. A cabana on the transom features an oversized dockage door for deploying multiple jet skis.
The new shadow and support vessel design by Setzer Design Group will measure 42m with a beam of 8.8 m and with a draft of 2.45m. The yacht has been designed to provide comfortable cruising carrying plenty of fuel (58500 ltrs ) and water stores ( 10700 ltrs). The design is expected to have a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, built to class rules.
Powered by twin CAT C32 engines the 42m Setzer yacht is expected to deliver a maximum speed of 15.5knots with cruising speeds from 11 to 13 knots. Power generation is from a pair of 100KW Northern Lights gen. sets and at rest stabilization is planned with vendor to be selected.
The Setzer Design Group currently has 2 modern expedition yacht designs measuring 40 and 46 metres with builders soon to be awarded build contracts. They also have a 37 m express plumb-bow motor yacht for the Nisi Line of yachts in China, and a 24 m Tourmaline sports yacht underway with a build start of this October.
