Built as YN 17947 by Heesen Yachts, luxury yacht BOOK ENDS was delivered to her proud Owner on 13th June 2017. Measuring 47 metres with a displacement below 500GT, she was constructed for an experienced yachtsman from America who will now enjoy cruising aboard his new vessel exploring the Mediterranean this summer, followed by Atlantic crossing to participate in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Frank Laupman of Omega Architects was in charge of her beautiful classic contemporary exterior design, while Banneberg & Rowell were responsible for her luscious interior inspired by kinetic energy.
On the way to Gibraltar at the moment, BOOK ENDS’ Captain comments on the brand-new vessel: “It feels very safe as Book Ends’ structure is solid – Dutch solid! The vessel is very responsive and accepts steering commands immediately. The use of the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit makes for a very quick reaction when the steering tiller is moved, even the slightest amount. We can’t wait to welcome the Owners on board their new home away from home!”
BOOK ENDS is powered by two MTU 8V 4000 M63 Diesel engines reaching a top speed of 15.6 knots at sea trials and a transatlantic range of 4000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
