The Turkish luxury yacht builder, Bilgin Yachts is pleased to announce the launch of the second hull in the Bilgin 156 model series, the 47.5m LILIUM yacht. The yacht hit the water today, during a private ceremony and was the last yacht launched from the shipyard’s former facility in Kucukcekmece of Istanbul.
Bilgin 156-II is now ready for her sea trials, following which she will head to the South of France where she will premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
İsmail Şengün, CEO of Bilgin Yachts expressed his thoughts about this spectacular vessel: “The Bilgin 156-II is named after the beautiful white flower Lilium as a sign of our promise to the yacht owners: A sunny and happy day on a deck.”
“It is always exciting to see the end result of our designs. After the success of ex. Nerissa, we can’t wait to see how Lilium will affect the ones who see her. She is a proud example of today’s globally recognized Turkish craftsmanship.” says Emrecan Özgün, Founder and CEO of Istanbul-based design office Unique Yacht Design.
The interior design of Bilgin Yachts, İlkay Dovan explains that she wanted to achieve a peaceful brightness in living areas: “We tried to imagine even the tiniest details through the look of a kaleidoscope. It was a challenging process to create luminous effect while deciding on the proportion of each material.”
There are only small differences when it comes to LILIUM and her sister ship Nerissa (2017) one of which is Lilium’s light colour palette, however, her galley represents perhaps the most important change in design. The layout of the galley was modified to ensure crew moved around easily without coming across the guests. There is also a pantry situated between the galley and the living room. The central island is the most significant feature of the galley, allowing for easier preparation of meals, especially during events or when larger groups are on board.
The interiors are characterised by whites and golds, with touches of brass. The lighting has been strategically placed, to create a pleasant atmosphere and inviting ambience on board. One of the central points of the vessel is the Jacuzzi.
The accommodation includes one master suite and four guest suites, all of which have custom-designed features, including headboards and lighting, while the marble in the ensuite bathrooms adds more luxury.
Just like her sister ship, LILIUM was fitted with two MTU Diesel engines (12V2000 M72) of 1,448hp each and is expected to reach a top speed of 16 knots while cruising at 12 knots, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
The 48m LILIUM will be cruising in France from the end of July, staying on the French Riviera for the entire summer season. She will be also present at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival (10-15 September) as well as the Monaco Yacht Show (25-28th September) where she can be visited by appointment contacting Bilgin Yachts’ sales director Yildirim Bilgen who will be on board for the entire three-month period.
In addition to the above-mentioned vessels, Bilgin Yachts is currently building two 80-metre superyachts of the Bilgin 263 series, one of which is available for delivery in 2019 while the second hull is scheduled for launch in 2020. As a member of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), the yard is planning on announcing more projects this month.
