The 50 metre superyacht ‘Ice Angel’ yacht has been launched at the Heesen Shipyard in Holland. Motor Yacht ICE ANGEL is the latest luxury yacht launched by the ever successful Heesen yard, with several new yachts having been finished already in 2011.
The 49.8m semi-displacement motor yacht is one of the few yachts of this length available with a gross tonnage of below 500 GT. Heesen’s Ice Angel has a sleek, hard-chine hull, featuring a pelican-beak bow and negative sheer.
Yacht Ice Angel is the 2nd hull to be launched in the Heesen 50 series, including her sister ship, “Satori” – which was also launched and delivered earlier in 2011. Motor yachts Man of Steel and SKY are also this length. Unlike motor yacht Satori, however, Ice Angel she features a striking black and white paint scheme. She had her exterior design created by Omega Architects and her Naval Architecture was by Heesen in house. The interior design of yacht Ice Angel is a collaboration between Omega and Domus Nova.
Superyacht Ice Angel was formerly known during her build as hull 15850 and she is built from aluminium and she has a semi-displacement platform with an impressive turn of speed. The twin screw motor yacht has a beam of 9.00-meters and a draft of 2.50-meters.
Like her sister ship, M/Y Ice Angel will have twin MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines or similar for propulsion which drive her to around 23 knots at top speed. Carrying around 70 tonnes of fuel she has a maximum range over 3,000 nautical miles. She will be completed and then delivered to her owner later this Summer.
