The latest design out of the Vitruvius® design team represents a new 50m motor yacht project. Boasting sleek good looks, the efficient and robust 50M Vitruvius® superyacht is another well-balanced design, ideal for cruising in style and comfort.
The 50M Vitruvius® yacht design is based on the highly successful hull of the first Vitruvius® yacht EXUMA launched in 2010. EXUMA has been praised and rewarded over the years, winning several prestigious awards including Motor yacht of The Year at The World Superyacht Awards 2011.
Over the past four years EXUMA has been on a world circumnavigation, which she recently completed, thus her efficiency and reliability have been successfully tried and tested. She completed more than 55,000 nautical miles during her round trip!!
Combining luxury with green efficiency is a hallmark of a Vitruvius® design for which Naval Architect Philippe Briand is best recognised. Like all the Vitruvius® designs, the efficient optimised hull has a low resistance and she will boast 25% less consumption and reduced co2 emissions than an average yacht of the same size.
The yacht’s range of autonomy is 5,500 Nm at 12 knots , which is more than enough to cross the Atlantic.
The new 50M Vitruvius® luxury yacht design is 499 GT, which is directly comparable to the GT of EXUMA, but the use of the volume is very different. The lay out and General Arrangement of the four decks is not the same. The brief was to design a yacht more suitable for a cruising programme not a long distance explorer as is EXUMA. This new 50m design is roomier with more accommodation, catering for all waters and more accessible cruising areas.
The space on the main deck is used for the owner’s suite and two large guests cabins for this is the most comfortable location for the cabins. On the lower deck there are two other roomy guest cabins and the remaining space is dedicated to huge crew quarters for the seven crew.
The living area on the main deck presents the possibility to open on three faces instead of the aft wall only. Transparency is key, which is why all walls of the superstructure are all surrounded by high bay windows, bringing light and outer views into all of the accommodations.
The outer space areas are twice as large than on EXUMA. They include, a larger upper terrace, a sun deck and a lounge area on the fore deck. The sun deck has a Jacuzzi.
Since her launch in July 2010 the efficient Vitruivus® 50m EXUMA has enjoyed enormous success thanks to her striking and innovative design. This multiple award winning yacht is the result of a seamless collaboration between Vitruvius® Yachts, Philippe Briand and the shipyard Picchiotti SPA. The construction of this new Vitruvius® 50M will use all the experience and expertise of these partnerships to build a yacht that will cruise effortlessly in The Mediterranean, The Caribbean and beyond.
Ecological awareness is central to Vitruvius® Yacht design. The design specification is for each boat to be based on three fundamental principles of efficiency, sustainability and robustness. Each yacht has an efficient ratio superstructure/hull; built out of steel and aluminium, they are lightweight, and they consume less and have low CO2 emission.
Vitruvius® Yachts derives its name from ‘The Vitruvian Man’, the world-renowned drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci i, the symbol of ideal proportions. With this symbol, together with the three core principles, the Vitruvius® Yachts concept was born.
