Baglietto has begun tests at the Italian ship model basin in Rome, Insean-CNR, on a 54m/177ft model currently referred to as Hull#10231. The results will be used to ensure the best dynamic and hydrodynamic performance while at sea.
Based on a brand new naval platform customised specifically for the project, she will be in the highest class of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. Once finished, the completely aluminium superyacht will have a beam of 10.4m and a draft of 2.6m. Cruising at 12 knots, she will have a transatlantic range of 4,500 miles.
Riccardo Quasso, Baglietto’s Head of Technical Department said “We strongly believe in this brand new project and want to be sure to gain the best performances in all sea and weather conditions,” commented Riccardo Quasso, Baglietto Head of Technical Department. “We want to reduce all possible flaws by collecting as mucj precise data as possible. The tank testing will give us all the elements to provide a perfect hull, high performance and with great maneuverability characteristics”.
The delivery for the as yet unnamed 54m Baglietto Hull#10231 to her American owner is expected in 2020.
