DESIGNER COMMENTS ON SARP 58m SUPERYACHT
Same styling feel, but much more organic marine animal inspired shapes dominate the design. However three fundamental principles are paramount: safety first, form to satisfy function and maximum use of space. TANJU KALAYCIOĞLU – AUGUST 2014.
Hull will be constructed of high tensile steel with extra safety built-in through dedicated watertight compartments for stabilizers and steering gear. Superstructure will be made by vacuum-bagged epoxy sandwich composite, saving on weight and improving stability. This system where Sarp team excels in will be very beneficial for paint maintenance in the future.
Interior design was developed by Donald Starkey. I respectfully would like to acknowledge that he was one of my megayacht teachers 22 years ago… He helped us to create a spacious, easy going, fun to live in atmosphere. There are five guest suites and a very large Owner suite. Obviously with an over 1000 gross ton ship like this, many options and endless customization are possible, if required.
One feature of the yacht is the lift serving four decks which is capable of taking a wheelchair or two persons. Ample storage is carefully allocated without hindering living spaces of guests. Crew country is in line with the new MLC (LY3) norms. Design detailing will address the access to systems issue to enable the crew to work their yacht in confidence and pride.
One of the options Sarp Yacht is offering is diesel electric propulsion which is becoming more common especially with bigger yachts. With twin azimuthing thruster units and a powerful bow thruster, the vessel will be exceptionally maneuverable. A further option offered is DP-0 dynamic positioning making the yacht independent of anchors in crowded anchorages and small bays.
Our philosophy with the Sarp Yacht team is behind all the carefully applied meticulous engineering and advanced technology, there is a lot of spirit from the hearts of all who have contributed to the creation of a new build yacht.
SARP 58m SUPERYACHT INTERIOR
I am delighted to have been asked to contribute my past design experience to this modern vessel, combining elegance with sound practical engineering solutions with a sensibly thought out arrangement of internal spaces which provides a timeless yacht showcasing the best that Turkey can offer the discerning yacht owner. DONALT STARKEY – AUGUST 2014.
This layout has been developed for a potential private owner or as a very suitable adaptable arrangement for charter work as well. The main deck spacious owners suite with his and her bathrooms -as drawn- incorporates fabulous automatically engineered port and starboard terraces providing fantastic open aspect vistas at anchor. It also combines a starboard side office and a port side VIP suite.
These are adaptable and could become a private owners gym in place of the VIP suite or 2 suites when the forward or aft lower deck suites could be joined to become a large full beam VIP suite with lounge and bedroom to maintain 6 on board suites.
All decks are accessible via a 2 person elevator ( having wheel chair capability). There are 3 open vista levels of shaded aft open deck areas with a sun deck forward Jacuzzi tub and sunbed arrangement.
The lower aft beach club provides a swim platform combined with dive facilities, sauna/steam room, gym and massage room with additional easy staircase access from the starboard main deck.
Very ample service areas with a dumb waiter serve all decks and the forward crew spaces accommodate 8 plus 4 officers and chief engineers cabins with separate crew and officers messes to comply with LY3 regs.
The interior proposed is in a modern understated style reflecting current trends and combining LED lighting and the latest A/V technology.
