What is it that makes Croatia such a popular summer destination and a preferred ‘playground’ for super rich and vacationers aboard charter yachts? It might be the breath-taking natural beauty, the rich variety of activities, the seemingly-endless list of UNESCO World Heritage sites, hundreds of islands and islets to discover, the mouth-watering cuisine or the warm welcome and great hospitality of the local people. Whatever is the  aspect that draws visitors to this warm Easter Mediterranean country, they are bound to leave with unforgettable memories, relaxed and well-rested. Charter yachts are perfect for cursing around Croatia and represent the most comfortable way of enjoying everything it has on offer. You will not find a better service, flexibility and luxury amenities in any of the five-star hotels around; not to mention the complete privacy. If you have never been to Croatia, and because there is so much to see and do, you might ask yourself: “Where should I go first? What should I see?” Look no further! Below are the six ‘must see’ destinations, which you could spread over a week-long holiday or over a longer period of time. Our brokers are happy to discuss any particularities or suggest other fantastic places to see, depending on your lifestyle and desires.

1. MLJET ISLAND

The Mljet island is perhaps the most beautiful and greenest island in Croatia and the Easter Mediterranean. It is ideally placed on the ‘Split-Dubrovnik’ route and is the perfect destination for nature-lovers, as it boasts two large salt-water lakes: Veliko and Malo Jazero. You can bike around the island or take a short boat ride to the middle of the Veliko Jazero to visit the small island in the middle with a charming old Benedictine monastery. One of Croatia’s many National Parks is located on the northwestern part of the island; perfect for hiking or leisurely walks.

2. KORNATI ARCHIPELAGO

The Kornati islands offers a multitude of barren moonscape islands, which are amazing to sail through, while you can stopover to discover isolated coves or enjoy a meal at the enchanting little beach restaurants along the way.

3. VIS ISLAND

Vis island is a location off the beaten track. It was previously off limits to foreigners, having a very special feel to it. The island is known for its relaxed and more untouched and authentic feeling. Some of the best Croatian white wine comes from Vis, with infinite vineyards spreading over the island. Thanks to the well-preserved fishing traditions, Vis also offers some of the best and freshest seafood in the area.

4. DUBROVNIK’S ANCIENT PORT AND OLD CITY WALLS

Dubrovnik is a renowned and very popular destination. Anchor just off Dubrovnik Old City walls and the city’s ancient port, and then be taken directly into the city aboard your private tender. This might not seem the most original activity, however we can assure you that it is still an incredible experience for anyone. Continue on strolling Dubrovnik’s cobbled streets, mingling through the vibrant atmosphere, visiting fabulous small art galleries, coffee shops or fine-dining local restaurants.

5. BLUE GROTTO ON BISEVO ISLAND

This amazing natural wonder is a water-logged sea cave situated in a tiny bay called Balun, on the east side of the Bisevo island. It is one of the most renowned spots in the Adriatic, thanks to its glowing blue light that appears at certain times of day.

6. ISLAND OF HVAR

World-famous as Croatia’s party island, Hvar is where you will find celebrities, movie stars and the creme de la creme of the society. It is renowned for fantastic nightlife and ever so vibrating atmosphere after the sunset. After an activity-filled night, take the morning off enjoying the lavender scent-filled summer breeze, relaxing with a fresh coffee or fruit cocktail on board of your yacht, anchored just off the island. In addition to the endless lavender fields, Hvar has a well-preserved history with grainy-white and brown architecture in baroque-style and pine and palm trees growing in every little space they can find.
