As Thailand-based firm Yacht Solutions near completion on the ambitious conversion project known as Fox, a 60-metre superyacht being rebuilt in Bangkok, they have decided to open things up further with a new superyacht build division known as Ruea Yachts.
The new company aims to take advantage of British management, design and naval architecture in Thai shipyards, where hand-crafted finishes and strong attention to detail fit the needs of a superyacht builder.
The first design to be released by Ruea is the Ruea 60-metre, featuring naval architecture by BMT Nigel Gee, which has worked on such projects as A and Dubai. Meanwhile, the design is the work of UK firm Design Unlimited. The twin screw diesel yacht will have 1,240 gross tonnage, and a beam of 10.5 metres. Her steel hull and alumimum superstructure will be Lloyd’s certified and the yacht will be built to MCA Large Yacht 2 code.
Her top speed will be 16.7 knots, depending on engine option, with an expected range of 2,400 nautical miles at 16 knots. At 12 knots, her range is to increase to 4,900 nautical miles.
The Ruea 60 will also boast an excellent array of amenities and toys, including optional touch-and-go helipad on the bow, beach deck and bar, sea terrace and 3.5-metre swimming pool.
