The French Pierrejean Design Studio is pleased to reveal its latest 60-metre motor yacht GHOST concept. The idea of creating Ghost superyacht concept was born when founder Jacques Pierrejean attended the last year’s Monaco Grand Prix. His attention was drawn by plenty of yachts anchored at the entrance to the port in the Principality of Monaco. He had the possibility to observe how many of these yachts resembled each other.
True jewels of the sea and ambassadors of the yachting spirit, it seemed to Jacques Pierrejean that production in limited series is no longer limited to 25 metre motor yachts but extends in future to large vessels!
As designer’s profession is also about prospection, Pierrejean decided to work on research into innovative boat silhouettes, where the penetration of exterior light is associated with the interior conception of the boat. In this sense, the research concept moves from exterior to interior and back again, thus offering a different vision of the yacht from the existing fleet.
GHOST, a 60 metre motor yacht, is an example.
Imagined around three decks, the 60m mega yacht Ghost concept provides astonishing openings and views of the sea. To know how to profit from this environment that is the very liberty of navigation incited Pierrejean to search for an on-board lifestyle in contrast to that of the landlubber. And his starting point for developing such a project was that nothing should be comparable with a house, a hotel or a palace!
Through this research into the boat’s profile, one can perceive that the interior volumes will increasingly affect the yacht’s form. The interior spaces will require more specific study for the furniture with the aim of best integrating it with the exterior and with the panoramas it reveals.
This life on board must be considered so that it is in harmony with the ocean, with cold or hot places, and also over the moments of the passing day.
A terrace at the front of Ghost yacht concept will be able to be used both when cruising and moored. In the morning, one can have an intimate breakfast there, stay there in the afternoon for tea, then pause for a moment of relaxation around a Spa Pool, or organise a candlelit dinner there in the evening.
On the contrary, the large terrace, a true belvedere at the rear, will be more specifically devoted to social life. By day, it will provide an access to the beach or bathing around a variety of nautical activities, a huge recreation area where relaxation and fitness are at their full extent. In the evening, the space will be transformed for gala dinners with its dance floor by the water. Overhanging this outdoor space, the third terrace is like an extension of the owner’s suite. A morning wake-up for gymnastics, favourite reading corner where the imagination can wander, private dinner spot or star-gazing post form reference points for the owner.
Inside, family or guests can make the most of exceptional spaces, one deck is specially destined for them. The limited notion of the cabin disappears in favour of private spaces, the night corner and the bathroom form one volume, the ensemble opening onto a bay represented by a huge porthole giving a perspective over the surrounding nature.
Each guest is free to remain in their space to read comfortably, watch a film on a giant screen or relax by meditation.
The main deck is an area intended for encounters. Entirely open, it includes a self-service buffet corner, a multimedia library, a cinema, lounges and a dining room to answer the different moments in cruising life.
On the upper deck, the bridge is encircled by the owner’s suite. This vast open space, usually laid out in a mood of relaxation, leisure and well-being, is very private. A mini swimming pool or sunken bath in the floor offers the latest in thalassotherapy treatments, a modern four-poster bed reigns over the middle of the space, a huge shell serves as dressing room, sails form screens hiding the work and eating areas.
This interior distribution, imagined with its openings and exterior spaces, gives the Ghost superyacht her overall allure. Through her racy silhouette, GHOST is close to the sea, steamlined for energy saving, she makes an on-board lifestyle possible that is as much outdoors as inside the boat.
With neither the extravagance nor classicism of many yachts, the 60m mega yacht GHOST concept is both assertive and discreet. The true identity of yachting, GHOST will give its happy owner a concept of an exceptional lifestyle unique in its style.
