Italian design studio Hot Lab and superyacht builders VSY (Viareggio Superyachts) have released an updated version of the 67m/220ft HOT LAB 67 M EXPLORER BY VSY project, as presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018.

Hot Lab chose VSY to carry out its project due to the shipyard’s extensive knowledge in building superyachts over 60m/196ft as well as the company’s dedication to sustainability both in the construction process and for its business model. The HOT LAB 67 M EXPLORER BY VSY has evolved since its original conception to stay at the cutting-edge while incorporating classic features such as a raked bow and wheelhouse wing stations.

A more contemporary layout has been realised for the exteriors and changes include a transom without external stairs but a retractable gangway, and the large transom door becomes a large swim platform connected to the beach club. The bulwarks on both sides open up to allow for tender and toys storage, which when opened up become an additional wellness area.

A hatch from the beach club gives access to the flush main deck aft where there is an abundance of furniture for casual lounging and hosting social events, plus a swimming pool surrounded by sun pads that become a focal point for entertaining.

A notable characteristic of the design is the alternating appearance of full and empty decks, which culminates with an array of sunbeds on the sundeck that take in panoramic views to the aft. Just on the deck below, the wheelhouse aft is home to an infinity pool.

The classic interiors are designed for optimal use of space with a connection to the exterior areas, and two layouts are currently available that allow for a six or seven cabin layout. An Owner’s cabin would be positioned forward of the upper deck to benefit from the 180 views as well as a large bathroom and studio with two walk-in-wardrobes. A sky lounge is placed aft and provides an alternative space to socialising in the main salon, and flows into the exterior space where there is a grand and intimate alfresco dining table, a bar and armchairs for drinks and conversation under the stars.
