Custom built by the premier German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007, motor yacht Aviva (ex Aviva III) is an outstanding 68-metre vessel, with the last refit by Palumbo Superyachts Refit Yards in 2012. Featuring a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure and an impressive beam of 12,30m (40’4″ft), mega yacht Aviva is currently in Rybovich, which is renowned for its fantastic new facilities. Next month, she will become the largest yacht to be wrapped in the new high tech Färben marine foils and films by Wild Group International.
“I believe the new Färben foils and films offer a superior finish to what’s currently on the market. We are excited to be working on this project and hope it gives confidence to other Captains and owners to come forward and discover the benefits of using Färben products too,” comments Greg Hoar, Director Wild Group.
AVIVA YACHT PROJECT DETAILS
The captain researched various methods of finishing and discovered that by using foils and films the project timescale would reduce significantly.
The decision was made to opt in favour for foils and films following a visit to the Monaco Yacht Show where they were able to see up close the quality and finish that was on offer on a couple of similar large yacht projects completed earlier this year by Wild Group.
Superyacht Aviva is in Rybovich shipyard for her refit. A team of WG skilled installers will be flying out to Miami in the new year where the project is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks.
The specific marine foil film used has been colour matched to Awlgrip battleship grey by Farben foils who are currently working with Wild Group to develop tougher, stronger and glossier films and foils for the marine market.
The advantages of a simpler application means there is less labour time and cost as well as less time in the yard.
