15th Annual Chef Competition, held in the popular Caribbean yacht vacation destination – Antigua, during the well known Antigua Charter Yacht Show, saw Chef Craig Stevens of 68m charter yacht ICON take the 1st place in the ‘Yachts Over 160ft’ category.
Chefs from various yachts attending the show were asked to create a ‘Gluten Free’ three-course Caribbean dinner, accompanied by alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, as a continuation of last year’s Healthy Theme. They were asked to serve their special charter guests a healthy Caribbean inspired gastronomic feast; as well as show their panache and flair in creating three dished – a started, a main course and a dessert. One of the dishes/courses/elements was to be baked, using gluten-free flour.
Chef Craig Stevens served the three course meal aboard the beautiful 68m ICON superyacht. The dishes were judged for their originality, creativity, presentation, taste or flavour, use of local Caribbean ingredients, execution craft or technique and the overall impression.
Luxury yacht ICON is a custom-built vessel, constructed by the well-known ICON shipyard in the Netherlands. She was launched in 2009, however in 2014 she underwent an important extension, lengthening her to the current length of 68 metres, from the original 62 metres. She was given a new five-metre transom with a fantastic beach terrace.
