CRN Shipyard, part of the Ferretti Group, specializing in the construction of fully customized superyachts made of steel and aluminium, varying in size from 40 to 90 metres, is currently working on a new pleasure ship, the 74-metre motor yacht CRN 131. Luxury superyacht CRN 131 is destined to be the second biggest yacht to be built since the 80-metre flagship, mega yacht Chopi Chopi (CRN 129).

Hull number 131 of the shipyard, made of steel and aluminium, luxury yacht CRN 131 is being manufactured on the 13.50 metre naval platform, the same one that was used to build other important megayachts, such as the 72m CRN 124 superyacht “Azteca”.

Thanks to her five decks and a sub-deck, the CRN 131 yacht can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests, in 5 guest cabins and the master suite, plus 4 staff persons in 2 cabins, and 34 crew members.

Super yacht CRN 131 is powered by two Caterpillar 3516 C-Chd 2’000 kW@1600 rpm engines, that allow her to navigate at a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Among distinctive features of CRN 131 superyacht, which are also common to other CRN megayachts, are the innovative technologies and the open-air areas that create a new way of experiencing the sea, namely, the terrace in the master suite and the beach club: in fact, the stern hatch opens and transforms into a beach platform by the sea.

The simplicity of the CRN 74m lines contrasts with the great attention given to details in the linguistic definition and geometry of its superstructure and the furniture pieces in the different environments. The external lines were designed by Studio Zuccon International Project in close collaboration with the CRN Naval Engineering Department, and the internal layout by Andrew Winch Designs with CRN Interiors and Design Department.

As regards the design, the 74m motor yacht CRN 131 is the result of a research and analysis process aimed at optimizing the balance between internal and external spaces: the study carried out on the formal symmetry of the yacht in terms of volumes and proportions has created great comfort inside – developed so as to reduce the cubic content – with strong dynamism and essentiality of volumes and surface opening.

Moreover, light has a strategic role: artificial lighting and its presence in the areas is the key to the theoretical understanding of architecture.
