New York-based studio Gill Schmid Design have released the first concept images for an 80m/262.4ft hybrid explorer yacht.
The vessel was developed in conjunction with German shipyard Dörries Maritime and Tim Dempers Studio, and is built to ICE Class specifications with an extensive cruising range that uses hybrid technology for a minimal impact in environmentally sensitive regions.
In addition to the full-height windows applied seamlessly across most of the decks, the futuristic exterior styling has mirror-like surfaces in the hull and superstructure so that the explorer yacht blends into the surroundings. There is a certified helideck installed on the bridge deck aft and from here guests can enter the interior to find a starboard gym and a port-side lounge. When not in use for transport, the helideck can be converted to a spacious outdoor lounge where guests can enjoy panoramic views. An alfresco Jacuzzi, plenty of storage for water toys, tenders and vehicles (including two Triton submarines), and an A-frame for their easy launch and retrieval are among the other features integrated into the design.
The interiors are divided into functional areas and recreation, with the former sporting a silvery finish while the latter is painted in an opalescent white. Stainless steel accents and cool blue lighting enhance her futuristic feel and create a clean and spacious atmosphere for social gatherings. Whether cruising in the tropics or cold polar regions, guests have plenty of indoor amenities including a cigar lounge, a hair and beauty salon, and a library bar.
The formal dining area in particular is a stunning setting to celebrate a special occasion, where broad windows run down both sides and outward-facing sofas create an ideal place to unwind at sunset following a three-course meal.
The three-deck tender garage in the stern can be converted for use as a beach club to host parties.
The accommodation provides for up to 14 guests over seven en-suite cabins, which includes an Owners’ apartment, and the crew quarters accommodates up to 25.
