The 80m/262ft Blohm + Voss luxury yacht GRAND OCEAN is undergoing an extensive refit at Greek shipyard SSH Maritime which will see the aft expanded by 5.5m/18ft and the exterior updated with a new look to complement the interiors refreshed in 2017 by Sofia Mandouvalou of the SSH design team.
Launched in 1990, her original naval architecture and exterior styling was the work of Platou Architects, with interiors from Alberto Pinto. Today, among her sensational amenities is a hexagonal Jacuzzi on the sundeck, a mosaic pool that converts into a dance floor and timeless, sophisticated interiors that vary from dark wooden panelling in the bedrooms and formal dining room to the light skylounge with arched windows and a grand piano for entertaining.
A main deck dressing room was added along with an upgrade to the aft-deck swimming pool, and the understated exterior lounge areas give plenty of room for alfresco parties to spread out, served by a crew of 29. While cruising, the guest accommodation provides for 14 guests in seven en-suite cabins.
The engines offer a top speed of 18 knots, a cruising speed of 16 knots and an exhaustive range of 9,100 nautical miles that ensure that luxury yacht GRAND OCEAN can travel across the world to some of the most spectacular luxury yacht charter hot spots.
SSH Maritime has recently completed a €4,000,000 refit on 51m/167ft expedition yacht ASPIRE (ex.ETRA) from Chinese shipyard Penglai and Benetti, and through the Greek shipyard M/Y GRAND OCEAN is currently up for sale at €49,000,000.
