Developed by Cimolai Technology in Italy, Derecktor of Florida, Florida’s most complete megayacht repair as well as refit facility, is delighted to announce the delivery of the first components for their new 820 metric ton (900 short ton) mobile boat hoist. The lift will be the largest mobile unit in Florida and the second largest in the USA. The installation is planned to be operational by September 15th, 2012.
Founded in 1967, Derecktor of Florida has been a preeminent service destination for the world’s megayacht community for over 45 years. Our existing 500 ton lift and transfer system is no longer adequate and the company has embarked on this significant upgrade to meet the demands of a growing global market. The new mobile boat hoist will permit up to eight megayachts to be blocked ashore at any given time, more than doubling the existing capacity.
The new 820 metric ton (900 short ton) Cimolai hoist will provide South Florida marine interests and the world’s megayacht community with a haul-out and service capability close to the epicenter of the industry.
Derecktor of Florida is situated on 17 acres adjacent to the Dania Cut-Off Canal, within one mile of Port Everglades and minutes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The yard is only two miles from the center of Fort Lauderdale and offers a full service facility catering to megayachts up to 65m (210’) in length x 12m (40’) beam x 4m (14’) draft x 38m (125’) air draft. The on-going dredging project in the Dania Cut-Off Canal will, upon completion, provide vessels access to the yard that is not tide-dependant.
